What people have said

“The Boys from Melbourne Street” It was impossible to categorise their music other than to say it was a mixture of Acoustic Folk, Rock, Jazz and originality. Their lead singer, who was not only a very accomplished guitarist, but had a voice not unlike Peter Gabriel. If you get a chance to see them do, you won’t be disappointed
(The Note)

The album contains all the elements that made their first release so popular; strong melodies, finely blended harmonies and skilful musicianship, all topped with bright and open production

Spring 2006 sees the release of the second album by The Boys From Melbourne Street. "Carpe diem" is Latin for "Seize the Day" meaning take your opportunities. Well Colin and the lads have certainly done this, and on the back of great reviews for their debut album and live shows they took themselves back into the studio to record a second instalment for the many fans of their summery sounding acoustic rock.

"At Last" has a jazzy feel and is one of a number of songs on the album that would seem to carry elements of the brighter work by Nina Simone.
Woven Wheat Whispers

As Spring now unfolds and our thoughts turn once again to barbeques, bare legs and beer gardens, we should consider the music to accompany sunshine filled days and long summer nights. You can’t do better than this.

They're a jovial bunch whose friendship shines through. This is the third or fourth time I've met the 'boys' and every time it's been fun

John Govier BBC Radio Spring 2006

“They aren’t jazz, folk, country, rock, pop or blues, but they could be whatever label you wish to attach to them, original is one and unique is another

Bradninch Music Festival

“The Boys are back, Colin Wilson, Dave Eustace and Keith Hunter give a second intimate concert hallmarked by the “Boys” unmistakable easy relaxed style. With a simple uncluttered, almost raw feel, their music aims at truth at both in melody and in the lyrics –real music for real people”

Ian Martin,

Lead Councillor for Economy and Tourism

Just want to say congratulations on Folk in the Park!! We'd heard you at Milverton earlier in the year, but the sound in the open air was just great!! Didn't have chance to come over and say "Well done" at the time  but what better way to celebrate a birthday than good music in the open air with friends and a wine box!! Thanks again Boys!! Take care

We're going to put all their tracks into rotation.  They are brilliant band, and we're glad to publicise them
