The Boys From Melbourne Street, a three man band from Exeter were the main act of the evening at Roadwater Performance Club. The skillful blend of Keith Hunter on Bass, Dave Eustace on Percussion and Ukelele and Colin Wilson on Acoustic Guitar created a superb sound.

The songs taken from their 3 CD's written and sung by Colin, with Dave on backing vocals, were an eclectic mix of jazz, rock, folk and blues. They were engaging right from the start and had us enthralled for the next 90 minutes, finishing with "Wealthy Man" as an encore, what a fantastic event

“The Boys from Melbourne Street” It was impossible to categorise their music other than to say it was a mixture of Acoustic Folk, Rock, Jazz and originality. Their lead singer, who was not only a very accomplished guitarist, but had a voice not unlike Peter Gabriel. If you get a chance to see them do, you won’t be disappointed"

Carpe Diem contains all the elements that made their first release so popular; strong melodies, finely blended harmonies and skilful musicianship, all topped with bright and open production

Spring 2006 sees the release of the second album by The Boys From Melbourne Street. "Carpe diem" is Latin for "Seize the Day" meaning take your opportunities. Well Colin and the lads have certainly done this, and on the back of great reviews for their debut album and live shows they took themselves back into the studio to record a second instalment for the many fans of their summery sounding acoustic rock.

"At Last" has a jazzy feel and is one of a number of songs on the album that would seem to carry elements of the brighter work by Nina Simone.

As Spring now unfolds and our thoughts turn once again to barbeques, bare legs and beer gardens, we should consider the music to accompany sunshine filled days and long summer nights. You can’t do better than this.

They're a jovial bunch whose friendship shines through. This is the third or fourth time I've met the 'boys' and every time it's been fun

“They aren’t jazz, folk, country, rock, pop or blues, but they could be whatever label you wish to attach to them, original is one and unique is another

“The Boys are back, Colin Wilson, Dave Eustace and Keith Hunter give a second intimate concert hallmarked by the “Boys” unmistakable easy relaxed style. With a simple uncluttered, almost raw feel, their music aims at truth at both in melody and in the lyrics –real music for real people”

"The band is gradually building up a fan base of people who want to hear their original music played in an easy and relaxed style that crosses all devides and being able to relate and connect with the lyrics as well as the music. I have featured songs from both albums on my programmes and can recommend them.

And, on top of all this, the guest act ‘the Boys from Melbourne Street’ captivated the audience with their original style (a fusion of folk/pop/jazz/rock). If anyone would like to learn more about the band, or buy one of their CDs, you can go to their website at www.theboysfrommelbournestreet.com

Thanks for a brilliant performance. The audience loved you and many asked me if it would be possible for you to return to do a longer set

The Boys From Melbourne Street played a live acoustic set on the show featuring songs from their latest album "A Walk in the Park".We had a blinder of a set as they played "Ride with Me" the title track, A Walk in the Park, Chinese Whispers (a new song not yet recorded and featuring Dave on Ukelele) and Flamenco Red.

We had great feedback from the listening audience going by the emails I recieved after their live broadcast. It was great to hear original music in an easy and relaxed style.
